MONMOUTH, Ill. – For the fifth consecutive year, Monmouth College has representation on the D3football.com All-West Region team after defensive end Thomas Lesniewski (Algonquin, Ill./Marian Central) and offensive tackle Joe Krall (New Berlin, Ill./New Berlin) were named to the squad this week.
Named to the second team, Lesniewski earned All-Region status for the third time. The 6-foot-1, 240-pound senior led the Scots this season with 12 sacks and 18.5 tackles for loss. His 12 sacks for 2018 ranks him eighth nationally and was just two shy of the Scots’ season record. He ends his Monmouth career as the all-time sack leader, netting 34.5 sacks to break the previous record which had stood for nearly 30 years. His 53.5 career tackles for loss is No. 2 on Monmouth’s all-time list.
Krall earned his second straight All-Region honor after being named to the third team. The 6-4, 300-pound junior helped the offense average 177 yards rushing and nearly 370 yards of total offense per game while posting a 34.5 scoring average. Krall was perfect on pass protection, allowing no sacks as the offensive unit allowed just five sacks this season, the third-lowest total in the nation.
