Here’s the WMOI/WRAM/WAIK Athletes of the Week for the week ending Dec. 9th, 2018:
 
The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is sophomore wrestler, Trey Anderson. Trey placed 6th in his first tournament of the year. He went (2-2) in the 195 pound weight class at the PORTA Invitational Tournament in Petersburg. Both of Trey’s wins were by way of pin-fall.
 
The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Arianna Villareal. Arianna averaged 8.5 points in her team’s back-to-back wins over Rushville/Industry and ROWVA. Her hustle and intensity have contributed highly to a resurgent Red Storm girl’s basketball program.
 
The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys basketball player, Jackson Krieger. Jackson averaged 7.5 points in his team’s five games last week, including a high of 13 points in a win over Ridgewood at the United Holiday Tournament. That total included three, 3-pointers.
 
The A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior girls bowler, Alexis Wilson. Among several big schools, Alexis placed 8th individually at the United Township Panther Invitational at Highland Park Bowl in Moline. She rolled a 6-game total of 1071 for an average of 179, including a single-game high of 208.
 
The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week, presented by Toyota, is senior girls bowler, Mackenzie Bowton. Mackenzie had an outstanding performance at the United Township Panther Invitational. She placed 5th overall with a 6-game series of 1144. Mackenzie also had the 7th highest single game score of the day, knocking over 226 pins. She also had a top-10 3-game series of 591.
