Our February School Spotlight is Abingdon-Avon High School led by Principal Brad Weedman:
“Abingdon-Avon High School, we have 270 students that enjoy being in school. Our FFA program we are up from around 30 members to 65 plus. We have partnered with Carl Sandburg College to offer duel credit programs to allow our upper classmen the opportunity to work on their Associated Degree while they are in high school,” states Weedman.
The teacher of the month is Sarah Horner:
“Mrs. Sarah Horner, who is our Technology classroom teacher, in her third year with the district. She is in our high school and teaches grades nine through twelve. She has taken the program and really pushed it beyond the boundaries. She is always looking for new ways to teach students about technology, the use of technology, in society. She is a very outgoing teacher,” Weedman shares.
Congratulations to our teacher of the month Sarah Horner and our school spotlight Abingdon-Avon High School courtesy of MTC Communications, the Regional Office of Education, and Lackey Monuments.
