Monmouth-Roseville senior football standout Akira Lindsey recently verbally committed to continue his football career at Division II power Northwest Missouri State. On Wednesday, the athletic 6-2, 290 pound lineman made it official, signing his letter of intent to play for the Bearcats. Northwest Missouri is just four years removed from winning a national title in 2015 and has made the D-II playoffs in each of the past 15 seasons. Since 2004, the Bearcats have won four national titles and played in eight national championship games in total. Northwest Missouri head coach Rick Wright recently tweeted that he regarded Lindsey as one of his top defensive lineman recruits. Under coach Wright, the Bearcats were 10-3 last year and had its season ended in the 2nd round of the D-II playoffs by Ferris State. Ferris would go on to lose by two points to Valdosta in the title game.

Also, signing a letter of intent to play at Nortwest Missouri State on Wednesday was Galesburg High School kicker, James Hayden.
