Survey: Iowa farmland values continue gradual decline

Average farmland values in Iowa fell one percent over the past six months, according to the latest survey by the Iowa Chapter of the Realtors Land Institute.

The changes varied from a three percent increase in southeast Iowa to a nearly three percent decrease in north central Iowa.

According to the realtors group, major factors supporting farmland prices include a limited amount of land on the market, MFP payments, and higher than expected crop yields in some locations.
