MONMOUTH, Ill. – Just a month before graduation, Monmouth College linebacker Tre Maxwell (Abingdon, Ill./Abingdon-Avon) and defensive lineman Josh Perschall (Normal, Ill./West) have picked up a prestigious national academic honor.
The tandem this week was named NFF Hampshire Society members by the National Football Foundation. Recognizing players from all college divisions, the scholar-athlete program promotes academic excellence by student-athletes. Nominated by their institutions, student-athletes must have maintained a minimum 3.2 grade point average for their college career to earn induction to the society.
Maxwell, a two-time Academic All-Midwest Conference selection and accounting and business major, is the son of Robert and Renee Maxwell.
Perschall, a political science major, is the son of Jeff and Angie Perschall.
