Danielle Morrison with the Warren County Public Library dropped by to discuss some upcoming programs for the library. From “Tiny Tots” for toddlers, to teen escape rooms for teenagers, to resume building classes for adults – the library has something for people of all ages.
“We want to offer as many programs and events for people in the community of all ages, and to tie it into how it relates to literacy and reading. Now that school is back in swing, we have the partnership with the schools, and they’re really good about providing information and resources on reading. But we can also be an extension of that,” Morrison said.
With the arrival of fall, the library will be switching to their fall hours starting on Sept. 11th. Monday through Thursday, the library will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., and 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
Another change in library programming would be the introduction of “drop-in programs.” Morrison says many of the libraries she has researched around the country use a similar type of programming for crafts and creative projects.
“It’s a program where you can just come in, drop in any time from the scheduled time, and it’s a passive programming,” she said. “It’s an independent programming – I come in, and I check in to see how you’re doing – but all the directions are laid out.”
