4th Annual Sandburg Volleyball Navy & Red Scrimmage Aug. 22

GALESBURG — The fourth annual Carl Sandburg College volleyball Navy & Red Scrimmage will take place at 6:30 p.m. Aug. 22 in John M. Lewis Gymnasium.
 
Admission is free for all Sandburg students, faculty and staff. The public is asked to bring an item to be donated to the Carl Sandburg College Resource Room. The Resource Room was established in 2010 to support the College’s student body. Located in Building B, it’s sustained by donations of nonperishable food items, toiletries, school supplies and other items that can be used by Sandburg students in need.
 
The Chargers, runners-up in the Region IV tournament a season ago, open their 2017 campaign
at 7 p.m. Aug. 23 at against 16th-ranked Illinois Central before playing in the South Suburban Battle in the Dells on Aug. 25-26 in Wisconsin Dells, Wis. Sandburg’s first home match of the regular season is 7 p.m. Sept. 5 against Monmouth JV.
