An arrest made in home invasion case of former Mercer County board member

A Burlington, IA man that was being held in the Warren County jail on charges of residential burglary in Warren County has now been charged for the home invasion of a former Mercer County Board member.  According to a Warren County Sheriff’s Department press release, investigation implicated 55-year-old Brian Tully in the May home invasion at 83-year-old Fred Rooth’s rural property in Joy. Tully is accused of entering two rural Warren County homes back on July 23rd. One residence was located at the east side of Warren County, the other residence was near the west side of the county. In each instance, Tully allegedly entered the residences and was confronted by home owners before fleeing. A description of the man and vehicle were provided to responding Deputies in Warren County, and also passed on to authorities in Henderson County. Tully was intercepted in Henderson County and subsequently returned to Warren County.
