Kristyne Gilbert, Executive Director at the Buchanan Center for the Arts, shared some updates on upcoming events for the Center. The 36th Annual Security Savings Bank Photography Show, which started July 18th, is in the midst of it’s last week. The show closes Saturday, Aug. 19th, and features 100 images from area photographers. Gilbert also discussed the opening of the 64 Arts National Juried Exhibition, the “biggest show of the year” for the Center.
“This exhibition attracts nationally recognized artists and jurors to our gallery. It further elevates the quality of programming that we have, and it opens the door for us for greater arts opportunities,” Gilbert stated.
The show will feature over 400 pieces from 153 artists, and will feature prominent juror, Lucas Cowan. He is the Public Art Curator at the Rose Fitzgerald Kennedy Greenway in Boston, Mass. It will be the ninth year of the Exhibition at the B.C.A. The event will start on Sept. 8th at 5:00 p.m. and run through Oct. 7th.
