Golf
We have our first high school sports result of the new school year as the Monmouth-Roseville Titan boys golf team hosted the Macomb Bombers for a dual meet at Gibson Woods yesterday. The match was held using a modified stableford scoring format. Players were given points for each individual hole. The Bombers win the season opener for both schools, 89-67. The top individual, as far as points were concerned, was Monmouth-Roseville’s Nick Corman with 25 points. Macomb’s Eddie Burke had the lowest round with an 83. Corman’s 87 led the Titans followed by Reese Kane’s 93, JC Sells’ 96 and Aaron Blindt’s 101. Monmouth-Roseville gets back on the course on Wednesday with a 4-team meet at Gibson Woods at 2:30. They will be taking on three Western Big Six schools in Galesburg, Alleman and Quincy.
