MONMOUTH, Ill. – The Midwest Conference cross country coaches expect Monmouth’s women to challenge for a podium finish in November’s MWC Championships.
The Fighting Scots earned 51 points in the MWC Coaches’ Poll, ranking them fifth in the league, just five points behind fourth-place Lake Forest. St. Norbert garnered seven of the 10 first place votes, collecting 79 points to edge No. 2 Grinnell’s 70 points and two first place votes for the top spot. Cornell picked up the remaining first place vote and 66 points for a solid No. 3 seed. Lawrence edged Beloit 38-37 for the sixth seed. Knox (24), Illinois College (18) and Ripon (11) rounded out the poll.
