The Warren County Prime Beef Festival begins with our Princess Pageant held this Saturday before Labor Day.
This group of 2017 contestants are now hard at work on this season’s pageant. In alphabetical order they are:
Sarah Colbrese, Jordan Copeland, Laine Ferguson, Courtney Fisher, Vada Gregory, Bailey McKeown, Madelyne Plate, Chloe Russell, Kaylee Trego, Alejandre Villareal, and Grace Young.
Beginning each July a group of area young women are sponsored by local organizations to begin a ritual of weekly practices that culminate in the group and individual pageant performances held on the Monmouth College grounds in the Dahl Chaple & Auditorium.
A Princess is chosen by a panel of judges based on community service activities, interviews and their performance during the pageant. Three runner ups are chosen to assist her in the various duties that are the fours responsibilities in the Festival parade, demo derby and stage introductions, livestock judging & sales events as well as other responsibilities as personal representatives of our Festival event. A talent award is also presented and the contestants award one young lady with the “Miss Personality” award.
