replacement of the screw pumps in Monmouth

These temporary pumps are in place while the screw pumps are replaced.

An important project currently under construction in Monmouth is the replacement of the screw pumps at the combined sewer overflow treatment plant just east of the cemetery to move wastewater to the holding lagoons during periods when there is excess flow due to rain events and whereby the flow rate exceeds the north wastewater treatment plant capacity. This project will address state and federal mandates requiring municipalities to discharge properly treated and clean effluent into adjoining surface waters such as creeks and rivers. Once these new screw pumps become operational, the City will upsize the pump station that will pump the captured wastewater in the storage lagoon to the north wastewater treatment plant once the flow has decreased after a rain event
