Local farmers have a unique opportunity to hear from one of the top forage grazing experts in the country next week. Dr. Allen Williams will visit Toland’s River Oak Ranch on Tuesday, Aug. 29th at 5:00 p.m. to explain adaptive grazing, it’s benefits, and how to maximize profits.

Trevor Toland, former Illinois Beef Association President and Member of the Illinois Pasture Project, says the free presentation from Williams and the field day are a rare opportunity for farmers looking to improve their operations.

“I thought I knew a lot about grazing until I talked to him (Williams). He’ll just blow you away with his knowledge,” Toland said.

Dr. Williams has consulted with over 4,000 farmers from the United States, Mexico, Canada, and South America on farms ranging from a few acres to one million acres about forage grazing techniques. Toland says that adaptive grazing allows grazers to have total control over their operation, giving them the ability to change different aspects of their pasture.

“There’s many benefits,” Toland said. “Dr. Williams is going to talk a lot about those and be more technical about it as we go through the tour next Tuesday night. It will be a great opportunity for people to hear that and hear what they can do in their operation to increase efficiency, increase production, and make more money of course.”

To RSVP for the event or find out more information, contact Toland at 309-769-5293 or email him at tjtror@mtcnow.net.
