Cavanaugh Promotes Leadership Luncheon

Sean Cavanaugh with West Central Leadership Inc. stopped by to promote the upcoming Leadership Luncheon. Each year, the organization brings someone from the area that has gone on to achieve amazing things in life back to Monmouth to give a presentation on their life. This year’s keynote speaker is someone near and dear to Cavanaugh’s heart.
“This year, the keynote speaker is actually Michael Cavanaugh – my brother. He is a United States Diplomat. He joined the foreign service in 1994,” he said.
Sean’s brother Michael graduated from Monmouth High School. He then went on to graduate from Yale University with a history degree. His current position is the Director of Trade and Economic Policy Unit at the United States Embassy in Tokyo, Japan.
The presentation is part of a class put together by West Central Leadership Inc., which brings aspiring leaders together throughout the year for various presentations and skill development exercises. Ultimately, Cavanaugh hopes that bringing successful people back to Monmouth to tell their stories will inspire others.
“There are a lot of people around here with amazing stories to tell that people don’t know about. People need to know so that they can be proud of their town, be proud of where they came from, and also, for younger people to know that, just because you’re from a small midwestern town of about 10,000, doesn’t mean that you can’t achieve things,” Cavanaugh said.
The Luncheon will take place from noon to 1:30 p.m on Monday, Sept. 11th, at the Warren County History Museum. Tickets can be purchased for $15.00 each. They can be purchased from Midwest Bank, Warren Achievement Center, and the Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce. Contact Sean Cavanaugh or Al Kulczewski with additional questions.
