Hinrichsen Talks Warren County History Museum

Kellen Hinrichsen of the Warren County Historical Society stopped in to talk about some upcoming events at the Warren County History Museum. This Thursday, the Museum will host Mary Osborne of the Stewart House at Monmouth College. The event is part of the Museum’s “Third Thursday” lecture series, and it will start at 7:00 p.m.

“She’s going to be talking about the history of the house itself and Kappa Kappa Gamma, and how it became a national force in Greek life,” Hinrichsen said.

Hinrichsen started at the Museum in April of 2016, but has been impressed during his time here with the support from the United Way.

“They have been an agency that has really been fundamental in learning about what Warren County is. Along with that, their financial support has really, really assisted us in our mission. Our mission is to preserve and interpret the local history of Warren County,” he said.

Hinrichsen made sure to highlight an event coming up at the Museum in April of 2018. The First Annual Great Nicola Magic Festival will take place on April 21, 2018. The Great Nicola was a former magician that grew up in Monmouth before traveling the world to perform.

The Festival will be an all-day event, lasting from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., and it will feature magical performances, informational and educational programs, magic shop vendors, and local food. For more information regarding the Festival or the Museum, call 309-734-8433.
