Soccer

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan boys soccer team ran their unbeaten streak to seven matches with a 10-1 blowout of Riverdale. Gilberto Vazquez led the way for the Titan offense scoring four goals on the night. The Titans, who improved to (5-1-3) on the season, now head to Canton tonight for a matchup with the Little Giants.

Cross Country

Many area schools took part in the Prime Beef Festival Run through the streets of Monmouth yesteday. Monmouth-Roseville’s Riley Dulin was the top boys finisher, covering the 3.1 mile distance in 17:16.6. Dulin’s teammates, Carlos Serratos and Kevin Jurado were also top-20 finishers, placing 11th and 17th respectively. West Central’s Freeman Shoemaker was 4th. United was led by Yovanni Lori’s Saavedra in 35th. On the girl’s side, Monmouth-Roseville placed 4th as a team. Arika Hofmann crossed the finish line in 2nd, she was followed by teammates Jordan Copeland in 10th and Kara Fisher in 16th. United’s Olivia Bishop was 20th and Natalie Gillette was 34th and Carlolina Cruz was 36th.

Golf

The Galesburg Silver Streak boys split a pair of matches in a triangular with Limestone and Peoria Notre Dame at Kellogg Golf Course in Peoria. The Streaks shot a team score of 167, which was 12 strokes behind Notre Dame and was tied with Limestone, but Galesburg would win on a 5th man tiebreaker. Owen Hawkins led the Silver Streaks with a 39. That score included a hole-in-one on the 168 yard hole number four. Other scorers for the Streaks included Justin Endthoff’s 40, Lucas Watson’s 43 and Jacob Young’s 45. Galesburg is now (5-5) in dual matches this season.

The Ridgewood boys improved their dual season record to (12-2) with two wins over Williamsfield and Stark County at Valley View Golf Course in Cambridge. The Spartans shot a team score of 174, beating Williamsfield’s 193 and Stark’s 246. Levi Swanson shot a nice round of 38 for meet medalist honors. Thomas Bumann joined him in the scoring quartet with a round of 44. Ganon Greenman and Riley Nelson shot 46’s for Ridgewood to round out their scoring. Williamsfield was led by Loren Peterson’s 47.

The Knoxville Blue Bullet girls golf team was at home at Laurel Greens, taking on Galva, who did not have enough players for a team score. The Wildcats did have the meet medalist in Elizabeth Whitford’s 46. Knoxville’s Kaylyn Stearns led the Bullets with a 50. She was followed by Kylie Luptak’s 58 and Dedra Ratermann’s 55.
