Monmouth College Women's Golf Tie Season-Best at Tough Ironwood Course

Monmouth’s women’s golf team equaled their season-best for 36 holes, turning in the performance at a tough Ironwood Golf Course layout Saturday and Sunday.
The Scots’ 691 tied their best 36-holes of the fall, firing a 343 in the first round and a 348 on Day 2. Monmouth’s performance placed them 13th.
Haley Hoekstra was just two strokes off her personal-best and three back of the school record after firing 82s both days for a 164, tying for 41st in the 100-player field. Mamie Ambrosch also turned in consistent scores with a pair of 85s to finish at 170. An 87-89 scored both days for Kristen Worner who carded a 36-hole total of 176.
Kaniesha Whatley recorded a scoring round on Friday with an 89 while Carly Gonet scored Saturday with a 92. Whatley’s second day 93 gave her a 182 while Gonet carded a 186 after an opening round 94. Kelsey Trout – golfing as an individual – toured the course in 95-96-191.
The Scots return home to host Illinois College in an afternoon dual meet at Gibson Woods Golf Course on Saturday.
