Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior cross country runner, Kaitlyn Pendergast. Kaitlyn had a great showing in a loaded field at the First to the Finish meet in Peoria. She placed 31st out of a large total of 479 2A runners.
Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior volleyball player, Vada Gregory. Vada was selected to the Carl Sandburg College Tournament All-Tournament team. Her total of 46 kills in the five matchs was one of the big reasons that the Red Storm were able to claim the championship.
Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Matthew Burris. Matthew ran the ball 26 times for 244 yards in a Three Rivers Conference win over Erie-Prophetstown. Included in that yardage was an electrifying 93 yard touchdown run that essentially put the game away for the Titans.
Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman cross country runner, Natalie Kern. Natalie has a number of nice finishes in her first season of high school cross country, highlighted by her recent performance at the Peoria First to the Finish Race. She placed 91st out of 461 runners.
Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior volleyball player, Corinne Booton. Corinne totaled 39 kills in the Heat’s five matches at the Carl Sandburg College Tournament. She also hustled her way to 49 digs as well. That performance got her named to the All-Tournament team.
