Cross Country

Liberty High School hosted the West Central Conference’s championship meet yesterday. The Monmouth-Roseville Titans had three individuals earn all-conference status, with the girls team placing third and the boys, fourth. The top six individuals are considered all-conference as Arika Hofmann crossed the finish line in 4th for the Monmouth-Roseville girls. Riley Dulin was second and Kevin Jurado was sixth. Also getting top-20 finishes for the Titan girls was Jordan Copeland was 15th, Kara Fisher was 17th and Noel Sindani was 20th. Carlos Serratos was 9th for the Monmouth-Roseville boys other top-20 finisher.

Volleyball

The United Red Storm volleyball team held their senior night festivities last night at the Fieldhouse on the high school campus. The Red Storm dominated Galva 25-9, 25-15 to move to (27-7) overall and finish (9-1) in the Lincoln Trail Conference. Vada Gregory had ten kills to lead the United offense. Baylee McKeown handed out 17 assists and Jordian Cook had ten digs to lead the Red Storm defense. Should Wethersfield lose to Annawan tonight in Kewanee, the Red Storm will get a share of the LTC title.

The Galesburg Silver Streaks lost a heart-breaking Western Big Six Conference match against Alleman 22-25, 25-23, 25-23 at John Thiel Gymnasium. Hannah Huppenbauer had eight kills and six blocks for Galesburg. Yvonne Mixon led the Streaks with 13 kills. Maddie Carlson and Megan Lingafelter each dished out 11 assists. Macey Bland led the way in digs for Galesburg with nine. The Silver Streaks are now (13-15) overall and (4-4) in the Big Six with two matches left on Saturday in a Western Big Six Quad in Moline. Galesburg won both the freshman and sophomore matches.

In other area volleyball, Macomb beat Illini West 22-25, 25-20, 31-29 to end their West Central Conference season at (6-2). The Monmouth-Roseville Titans, at (6-1) in the league, can wrap up an outright conference title tomorrow night at Camp Point Central.

Soccer

The Galesburg Silver Streak boys soccer team’s season came to an end last night with a narrow 1-0 loss to Geneseo in the Class 2A regional semi-final at Van Dyke Field at Galesburg High School. The Streaks finish (10-9-3), their first double-digit win season in five years.
