IHSA volleyball regional finals took place around the state of Illinois last night. At the West Central High School Class 2A Regional in Biggsville, the United Red Storm came out strong against the Farmington Farmers capturing the first set 25-18. The Farmers would respond by taking set two, 25-23, and then used that momentum to go on and win the 3rd set, and the match, 25-19 to move on to the Farmington Sectonal starting on Monday night. The Red Storm end their season at (28-8) and were led by Carly Thompson with 14 kills. Vada Gregory also had double digit kills with 12. The Cyclones also had even less problems with Southeastern, earning a 25-9, 25-18 victory. West Prairie is now (27-10), with many of those 10 losses coming against Class 3A schools. In a loaded Brimfield sectional, (31-6) Hartsburg-Emden will take on the (21-12-1) LaMoille/Ohio coop in the second semi-final.
