Preston Bocchi, Monmouth College Swimmer

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Freshman Preston Bocchi (Lakewood, Wash./Lakes) made quite a splash in his Monmouth College debut and earned the seasons’ first Midwest Conference Performer of the Week honor.
Bocchi made an immediate impact for Monmouth in their season-opener, winning three of his races while turning in one school record and two honor roll times. The freshman set the Scots’ record in the 50-yard backstroke, clocking a 25.44. He turned in honor roll marks while winning the 100 back (55.20) and the 100 IM (56.91). Bocchi capped off the meet, swimming the anchor leg of the mixed 200 freestyle relay which clocked a runner up time of 1:42.20.
