Teacher & School Spotlight: November
West Central Middle School is the subject of our School Spotlight for November. Natalie Ensminger has been teaching in the district for 26 years, and she is the recipient of this month’s Teacher Spotlight. Julia Burns, principal at West Central Middle School, shared why Ensminger was a great choice for this nomination.
“Natalie is a veteran teacher. She is one of our eighth grade teachers. She teaches Language Arts & Literature. She has really embraced a new way of teaching … She has embraced a standards-based mindset in her classroom … She has really changed how she teaches and how she evaluates kids. The kids love her, the staff loves her – she is a very effective teacher and one of our best,” Burns said.
Ensminger is known for her creativity in the classroom. Whether it was bringing her old record player in to help teach English or using a speed-dating format to help kids find books they’ll enjoy, Ensminger is never short on great teaching ideas.
Mrs. Ensminger goes above and beyond for all of her students every single day. This award is brought to you by MTC Communications and the Regional Office of Education.
