WCPL Shifting to Halloween Mode

Two members of the Warren County Public Library Staff, Danielle Morrison and Rebecca Eaton, stopped by the studio to discuss some of the programs and special events coming up at the Library. Throughout October, Halloween and pumpkin-themed events will be held every Saturday.

“Saturday the 14th at 10 a.m., we have our drop-in craft and story snack with the Regional Office of Education. On the 21st, the next Saturday, we have a drop-in Halloween craft at 10 a.m. And then on the 28th, we have a Halloween Party, which is always really, really fun,” Morrison said.

Aside from Halloween fun for children, the library has also introduced some technology-based classes for adults. Eaton explained some of the classes that are on the slate coming up including computer basics, iPad basics, and intro to Facebook.

She believes the adult demographic is underrepresented at the Warren County Library, which is something she wants to change.

“I’m starting to bring programming in for adults, young adults. It’s sort of to do things like introduce them to career resources, technology that they’re not necessarily familiar with. At some point, we’re hoping to get some phone classes going. That’s a huge issue on the adult side,” Eaton said.
