Your Area Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 10th, 2017

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior football player, Toby Whitsitt. Toby ended his home career with an excellent senior night at the quarterback position. He threw for 182 yards and three touchdowns in a Lincoln Trail Conference game against Stark County.

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior cross country runner, Arika Hofmann. Arika has been the top runner for the Titans in every meet so far this season. Recently, her 12th place finish at the competetive Liberty Invitational was good enough to earn a medal.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior golfer, Maitlyn Sanders. Maitlyn will end her high school golf career with a second straight trip to the AA State Finals. She fired an 83 at Panther Creek Country Club in Springfield. That score was good enough for 13th place individually and a chance to play in Decatur at the finals.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior football player, Luke Ditsworth. Luke scored all three touchdowns for the Heat in a Lincoln Trail Conference 22-20 win over Mercer County. He also hit the century mark in rushing, grinding out 118 yards on 19 carries.

Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior football player, Jay Allbright. Jay had an amazing night rushing the football against the Lewistown Indians. He ran for 376 yards on 30 carries. He also scored five of the eight touchdowns in his team’s 54-34 victory.
