Your Area Athletes of the Week for the week ending Oct. 3rd, 2017

The Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior golfer, Justin Endthoff. Justin fired an 18-hole score of 76 in the Western Big Six Conference Championship meet at Oakwood Country Club. That was good enough to earn him a 2nd place finish and All-Conference honors.

The A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore volleyball player, Payton Florine. Payton had 8 kills, 10 digs and one block in a Prairieland Conference win over North Fulton. She then hammered 13 kills in a Prairieland loss to Brimfield.

The Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior soccer player, Erick Suarez. Erick had two assists in his team’s 6-3 win over Peoria. That brings his career total to 31, which is a Monmouth-Roseville soccer program record.

The West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior golfer, Nathan Wetzel. Nathan returned from injury to post a score of 86 at the Lincoln Trail Conference’s Railsplitter championship meet at Oak Run. He finished in 11th individually, just above the cut-off line for All-Conference status.

The United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophomore golfer, Emily Grodjesk. Emily’s 18-hole round of 108 was good enough for 5th place at the Lincoln Trail Conference’s Railsplitter championship meet. Her total helped the Red Storm win their second consecutive team title.
