Taste of the Arts Propelling BCA into 2018

The Buchanan Center for the Arts held their Taste of the Arts fundraiser on Saturday, Nov. 11th. Executive Director Krystine Gilbert is grateful for the support and generosity of the community in helping to fund future programs and arts opportunities in the area.

“I just want to say thank you to the community. We just completed another Taste of the Arts fundraiser. We raised over $25,000 for re-granting programs and programming at the BCA, so we’re very grateful for the community and our sponsors and those who attended that helped raise those funds,” Gilbert stated.

The money will be used to support new programming heading into 2018. However, prior to 2018, the BCA still has a few notable events on the calendar.

On Nov. 28th, two local artists, Chad Ellison and Greg Leibach, will be opening up a new exhibition. Ellison’s art is centered around public art murals and 3-D sculpture, while Leibach specializes in architecture and patterns.

The public reception for this event will be held on Dec. 1st from 5 to 7 p.m. The BCA will also host a Holiday Open House on Saturday, Dec. 9th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. 13 of the Center’s gift shop artists will be in attendance putting on art demonstrations.
