Boys Basketball

The BPC Spartans blew out the West Prairie Cyclones 59-30 in Prairieland Conference play. Jason Housenga led B-PC in scoring with 17 points and Devin Yocum added 14. Mason Engnell, Ethan Hunt and Brett Yocum all had eight points for the Cyclones.

In another Prairieland matchup, it was Elmwood over Brimfield 62-25. Ethan Jehle led the winners with 16 points. Brady Kreiter and Tyler Baysinger led Brimfield with six each.

In non-conference action, ROWVA/Williamsfield defeated North Fulton 47-40. Austin Batterson led R/W with 18 points., while Jacob Schleich led North Fulton with 13.

After a loss on Monday night, the Ridgewood Spartans got back in the win column with a slim 53-51 win over Orion in Cambridge. Travis Kane scored 19 points to lead the Spartans. Riley Nelson added 14 points and Briar Greenman chipped in 10 for Ridgewood.

Farmington beat Macomb 43-40, scoring the last six points of the ballgame to get the home win and remain undefeated on the season. Carter Fayhee led Macomb with 15 points. Jayden Rutledge and Jacob Uryasz were in double figures for Farmington with 14 and 11 points respectively.

In West Central Conference North Division action, West Hancock held on for dear life at the end of a 53-51 win over Camp Point Central in Camp Point. West Hancock, the top seed in the upcoming Macomb/Western Holiday Tournament, is now (3-0) in the North Division and still unbeaten on the season overall.

Also in boys basketball last night, Wethersfield beat Morrison 73-62, Peoria Heights defeated Princeville 45-43 and it was Alleman over Rockridge 60-49.

Girls Basketball

North Fulton beat ROWVA 57-37.

Wrestling

The Knoxville Blue Bullet wrestling squad beat West Carroll 47-30. Getting wins on the mat for Knoxville was Kage Leab, Brandon Parrish, Anthony Razo and Zach Dean.

Swimming and Diving

The Galesburg Silver Streak swimming and diving team earned a 99-81 dual meet win against Burlington at Mustain Pool on the Galesburg campus. Drew Giles led the way with a pair of individual firsts, in the 50 yard free and the 100 yard breaststroke. Zach Cantwell won the 200 yard Individual medley. Jakob Pettit was first in the 100 yard backstroke, while Lorenzo Moreno won the 200 yard free.

Cubs Open Regular Season Against Rangers

The 2024 MLB season is finally here. The Chicago Cubs visit the world champion Texas Rangers for Opening Day at Globe Life Field tonight. The Northsiders are looking to build
