M-R Sports Boosters Looking for Volunteers

Share

The Monmouth-Roseville Sports Boosters are always looking for new members and volunteers to help with Titan athletics. P.J. Brooks with the Sports Boosters talked about the different opportunities that are available to Monmouth-Roseville sports fans and supporters:

“If you want to be a paying member, $25 will get you some free popcorn. As a $60 member, you get a free pass to all home games for junior high and varsity. You get a little bit higher up to $150, there’s more stuff like signs and double passes. There are incentives to being a paid one, but you don’t have to be. We love their support anyway, but if you want to be involved, we’re more than happy to have you there,” Brooks said.

The biggest fundraiser of the year for the Boosters is coming up in February; 200 raffle tickets will be raffled off for $100 a piece. The winner will receive $10,000 of the $20,000 that is raised. In the past, this raffle has paid for new scoreboards for both baseball and football.

Booster Club members customarily help out in concession stands at athletic events, but there are other areas of the athletic programs that could use assistance as well. Meetings are usually held on the 2nd Wednesday of each month, but December’s meeting will be held on Dec. 20th. Brooks encourages anyone interested in helping, to attend the 7 p.m. meeting at the high school library.

“You don’t have to be a paying member. We’d love to have everybody there and have them be paying members, but we need volunteers, and it’d be great to have as many come out. And again, it’s all about the kids, it’s about the district – come and support your team. That’s the big thing, and that’s what we enjoy seeing,” he said.
