Girls Basketball

In Oneida, the ROWVA Tigers, who won all of two games last season, get their 5th win already this season with a 47-32 win over the United Red Storm. The Storm, who hadn’t played since December 20th, scored 11 points in the opening quarter and only trailed by a point at the horn but only scored 21 point in the final three quarter to fall to (1-15). ROWVA was led by Abby Stowe’s 12 points and Madison Miller’s 10. United was led in scoring by Carly Thompson’s eight points.

In Biggsville, the West Central Heat fell to the Ridgewood Spartans 63-54. Corinne Booton led the Heat with 15 points. Ridgewood’s Carlie Barman led all players with 21 points and Grayce Spicher was right behind with 19. West Central is (2-13) so far this season.

The Annawan Bravettes won their 38th straight game, beating Stark County 77-40. Annawan has not lost a game since December 29th of 2016. They were led by Arizona State recruit Jayde Van Hyfte’s 23 points. The Bravettes are (17-0) this season and (3-0) in the Lincoln Trail Conference.

Elsewhere in the LTC last night, Mercer County defeated Galva 44-35. The Golden Eagles improve to (9-6) on the season and were led by Karli Stineman’s 10 points. Galva was led by Darrah Schilling’s 11 points. Galva is (10-9) on the season. Both teams are now (2-1) in the Lincoln Trail.

In the final game in the conference last night, it was Princeville over Wethersfield 53-48 in a game between league title contenders. Princeville improved to (16-2) overall and remain tied with Annawan at (3-0) in the Lincoln Trail Conference. Wethersfield falls to (12-6) and (2-1).

Boys Basketball

The Galva Wildcats fall to Riverdale 53-33. Reece Hoxworth leads Galva with 17 points. Riverdale’s Blake DeClerq leads all scorers with 18.
