Boys Basketball

The Galesburg Silver Streak boys were at home taking on the Rockford East E-Rabs. The E-Rabs took advantage of cold-shooting by the Streaks and got out to a quick start, leading 16-10 at the end of the first quarter. They would extend the lead to 44-29 at the half on their way to an 82-58 win over Galesburg. The Streaks would only make four of their first 18 shots. As cold as Galesburg was from the field, Rockford East was just as hot, hitting 62% of their field goals in the contest. Andrew Anderson led Galesburg with 12 points. The Streaks will head to the St. Joseph-Ogden Shootout on Saturday. The sophomore Silver Streaks scored 27 points in the fourth quarter to get a 62-54 win over Rockford East. Eric Price scored 20 points to lead Galesburg.

Girls Basketball

Coming off a Mattoon Holiday Tournament championship, the Silver Streak girls also fell last night to Quincy in Western Big Six Conference action in a low-scoring affair, 36-32. Galesburg’s loss to the Blue Devils was their first since 2009. Emily Meinert led Galesburg with 12 points. The Silver Streaks are now (2-3) in the Big Six and back to .500 overall at (9-9).

The Galesburg freshman girls basketball team headed to Dunlap for non-conference matchup. The Streak lose to the Eagles 52-44. Lauren Livingston led Galesburg with 21 points.
The BPC Lady Spartans beat North Fulton 51-41 in Prairieland Conference action. Emma Bradford led the winning Spartans with 22 points.
