Nonprofit Network Introduced by Local Chambers

The Monmouth Area Chamber of Commerce is partnering with the Galesburg Chamber of Commerce, Galesburg Community Foundation, and Forefront to create a new Nonprofit Network. The collaboration will give nonprofits in the area the opportunity to be a member of all four organizations according to Monmouth Chamber Director Amy Patterson.

“We’ve all combined together to offer one membership for all four, and provide some great educational services as well as marketing services, and ways to just make our nonprofits work better, make more money,” Patterson stated.

An opening reception was held last night in Galesburg to kickoff this exciting partnership, but those that missed can attend the Monmouth kickoff on Feb. 13. That gathering will be held at Danny’s Tap from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

Patterson also wanted to remind folks to check out the Winter Farmer’s Market that has been appearing every Wednesday at the 1st Street Armoury in Monmouth from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.

“We’ve had a wide variety of vendors there with homemade breads, jams, and jellies. Homemade jewelry, homemade wooden gifts, Sitka Salmon is out there. We have one lady with grass-fed beef and of course some different home products – candles, scarves, different things like that,” she said.

The Winter Farmer’s Market will be running every Wednesday until March. To find out more about the Monmouth Chamber, check out their website at monmouthilchamber.com.
