Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending Jan. 23rd:
Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jordan Cheek. Jordan broke out for 15 points in an upset win over state-ranked West Hancock. He was also a force on the boards and on the defensive end with four rebounds and three big blocks in the game.
Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Jackson Lee. Jackson contributed 10 points in a Lincoln Trail Conference victory over West Central in Biggsville. He scored eight of those ten in the first half and got his team off to a great start with six, first quarter points.
Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Bradon Annegars. Bradon scored in double figures in both of his team’s games last week. He poured in 20 points in a game against United and 16 in a loss to Ridgewood.
Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Calen Mahr. Calen averaged 13.5 points in a pair of games last week. He scored 14 points in a Prairieland Conference win over Knoxville.
Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior wrestler, Nick Perry. Nick continued his nice season by going (2-1) in the 160 pound weight class at the Orion Bob Mitton Classic Tournament. That was good enough for 2nd place in that weight division.
Congrats to all of these student-athletes!! Thanks to our AOTW sponsors, MC Sport and More, McDonough Telephone Cooperative (mdtc), Tompkins State Bank, Yemm Chevrolet Buick GMC Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram!!
