Fundraising Efforts Ramp up for Warren-Henderson Relay for Life

Relay For Life of Warren and Henderson County have a number of fundraising events on the horizon starting with Trivia Night this Saturday. The American Legion’s doors will be open at 5 p.m. for registration followed by trivia starting at 6 p.m. 11 teams have already signed up. A maximum of 10 members are allowed per team, and the entry fee is $100. Walking tacos will be served, and a silent auction will also be held.

Dina Chick with the organization also discussed how buying Lularoe from two local vendors in the area, Donna Lovdahl and Tara Empson, can help support Relay For Life:

“Those ladies are donating 20 percent of their sales. It started yesterday (Feb. 21) through Feb. 28, and if you buy purple, it’s an extra bonus five percent, so 25 percent if you buy a purple item,” Chick said.

The Warren-Henderson Relay For Life itself will be held on June 2. The event is returning to Sunnylane Field this year after being held at Monmouth College’s Huff Center the past few years. Stacey Dutton shared why supporting this cause is so important:

“Cancer is not a fun topic. It’s not a fun battle. We’ve all been there. But this brings everybody together as they’ve worked really hard throughout the year, to come together and have some fun – whether they make it to trivia night, support a team fundraiser like Midwest Bank or Lularoe, or come to the main event,” she said.
