Monmouth College Fighting Scots Basketball's Justin Aluya Earns National Award

Justin Aluya, Monmouth College men’s basketball
MONMOUTH, Ill. – Just hours after Monmouth’s Justin Aluya (Placentia, Calif./Valencia) was named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week, the record-setting senior was named to the D3hoops.com Team of the Week.
The weekly award recognizes the top performances in the past week by Division III men’s and women’s basketball players and Aluya’s performance was among the best. His 25 rebound game against Grinnell in last week’s 107-92 win over the Pioneers broke the previous single game rebounding record of 23 set in 1976 by M-Club Hall of Famer Roger Sander. Aluya averaged a double-double last week as Monmouth stayed in a two-way tie for the Midwest Conference lead. In last week’s two league games, Aluya averaged 24.5 points and 16.5 rebounds per game, hitting 20-of-27 field goals (.741) with five assists, five blocks and four steals.
