Monmouth Country Club Adds Chick's to the Fold

Chick’s on the Square in Macomb is expanding to a location in Monmouth. The Monmouth Country Club will now house the newest edition of the Macomb hot spot – “Chick’s at the Club”. Area food enthusiasts will no longer have to travel to Macomb or Quincy to get a taste of their famous chicken lips. Assistant Manager Austin Jackson explains why he thinks Chick’s is so popular:

“Everything we do is fresh. Obviously we buy bags of French fries, but other than that, pretty much everything we do we make from scratch. I think that’s why people are drawn to it. It’s a simple idea; it’s just fried chicken we do in different ways. But the fact that we do everything ourselves instead of buying pre-made, boxed, frozen stuff that you really can get anywhere. They just put a different name on it,” Jackson said.

The estimated opening day for “Chicks at the Club” is Mar. 1. Chick’s plans to keep the same business hours as their Macomb location, Monday thru Thursday 11:00 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday and Saturday 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., but that is subject to change depending on the demand for their product in Monmouth. Prior to the official opening, Jackson and fellow manager Jon Meckler plan to hold a soft opening for members of the Monmouth Country Club.

Their newest location will have some slight differences from Macomb and Quincy, but the most evident change would be size. Visitors will not be forced to wait outside for a table. The Monmouth location will also be able to cater bigger parties due to a much larger kitchen and seating area. Jackson urges the people of Monmouth to come check out the revitalized interior of the Country Club and enjoy some great food and service!

“We care about the product. We care about our customers. We pride ourselves on bringing out good in our employees, so we get really good work out of them. It just makes it kind of fun for us because we all take care of each other and take care of the store. I think that reflects with the customer, and we really look forward to seeing what we can do in Monmouth, and we want to see all their faces here. We’re excited. We hope they are too,” he said.
