Monmouth-Roseville FFA Annual Dinner and Auction Approaches

Share

The annual Monmouth-Roseville FFA Auction and Dinner Fundraiser will take place March 8 at the American Legion in Monmouth.

This fundraiser has taken place almost as long as the chapter has been around. It is the main fundraiser for the Monmouth-Roseville FFA. All money raised at the fundraiser will go to the FFA chapter.

These funds have paid for a newly updated agriculture and weight room, as well as a brand new greenhouse. The greenhouse has been used not only for the agriculture program, but the science programs as well. The funds have also sent students to many different events and locations.

Former FFA chapter president Kaitlynn Kane said that FFA has helped her, and many other students, gain leadership and communication skills.

“Honestly it made me the person who I am today. It made me so I can speak in front of people today and go through interviewing skills, it really made me a part of who I am today and all my personable people skills and just being able to keep proper records and really know how to work within the community and really advocate for agriculture,” Kane explained.

Pork chops and ribeyes will be served at the dinner. The meat will be provided by the Tri-County Cattlemen’s Association. The sides will be provided by Cindy Lou, who owns a restaurant in Smithshire. The dessert will be provided by a young woman that is local and owns a bakery.

Items at the auction will include items from Well’s Pet Food, lawn furniture built by the FFA chapter, seed corn and seed beans, and many more items, with the students also auctioning off four hours of labor per chapter member.
