Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb 20th:

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Jamonny Skinner. As the regular season winded down, Jamonny seemed to be hitting stride offensively. He scored in double figures in back-to-back games against Knoxville and Macomb, including 21 against the Blue Bullets.

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior boys basketball player, Adam Johnson. Adam scored 16 points in 2 of his last 3 games. One of those games was a regional quarterfinal overtime win over Knoxville, in which he led all scorers in the game. Adam had 12 of those points in the first half alone.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys basketball player, Landon Beelman. Landon had back-to-back double figure scoring outputs in 2 of the Heat’s four games last week, including a team-high 15 against Mercer County. He also scored 12 points in a non-conference matchup the next night vs. West Prairie.

Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is sophomore boys basketball player, Ryan Adolphson. Ryan filled the stat sheet up in his team’s two games last week. He scored 12 points and pulled down 8 rebounds against Brimfield and scored 8 points and had 5 rebounds in a win over Rushville/Industry. He currently leads A-Town in rebounds per game.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior wrestler, Robert Castellano. Robert ended his high school career in style with a 4th place finish in the 195 pound weight class at the IHSA Class 2A State Finals in Champaign. He ended the season with an overall record of (33-8).
