Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending Feb 6th:
Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is senior girls bowler, Vanessa Turner. Vanessa was the 3rd highest scoring individual bowler at the Decatur Eisenhower Regioinals. She rolled a 6-game total of 1186. That total included a single-high game of 288.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Ben Krieger. Ben scored a season-high of 28 points in an overtime loss to Ridgewood in a Lincoln Trail Conference tournament game. He made 2, 3-pointers and was 8-for-11 from the free throw line.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior girls bowler, Hannah Leon. Hannah rolled a 6-game series of 1118 at the Rock Island Regionals at the Quad City Family Entertainment Center in Moline. That score was enough to qualify her for the LaSalle-Peru Sectionals.

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is junior wrestler, Josh Cerna. Josh took second place in the 285 pound weight division at the Camp Point Central Class 1A Regional meet. That finish qualified him for the Stanford Olympia Sectionals. Josh is (16-11) on the season.

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is sophmore boys basketball player, Evan Wynne. Evan poured in 20 points in a Lincoln Trail Conference championship crossover-day tournament game against ROWVA/Williamsfield to lead the Red Storm. Included in that total was six, 3-point baskets.
