Festival to Honor 'The Great Nicola'

The Warren County History Museum has a special event coming up on Apr. 21. The Great Nicola Magic Festival will honor famous magician, The Great Nicola, who hails from Monmouth. Kellen Hinrichsen, Director at the History Museum, breaks down why Nicola is worthy of celebration:

“He was a world-renowned, globetrotting magician really on par with Houdini. He was as good as Houdini, and for a lot of the world, he was as well known, if not better known than Houdini was. Once we put those two together – entertainment and local history – it just comes together in this wonderful, wonderful event,” Hinrichsen said.

The festivities will start at 11 a.m. and last until 9 p.m. A wide variety of magic-related activities and entertainment will take place throughout the day. That list includes: magic vendors, magicians, stage acts, magic workshops, a 2-hour long magical performance finale, and a special exhibit honoring Nicola.

Tickets will be sold for two separate sessions; the daytime session which runs from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., and the night time session from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Adults are $10. Kids are $5.

Tickets are on sale now at the History Museum, Chamber of Commerce, City Hall, or the Midwest Bank location at County Market. For more information, email Hinrichsen at wchsmuseumdirector@gmail.com or call the History Museum at 734-8433.
