Galesburg Businesses Recognized by Chamber

A handful of awards were handed out last Thursday night at the 40th annual Galesburg Chamber of Commerce Business Excellence Awards and Banquet Dinner. Jim and Kae Hankes of Thrushwood Farms took home the Innovative Excellence Award. Jason Paulsgrove of Midwest Uniform Supply garnered the Small Business of the Year Award. And Mark Lee of Klingner & Associates collected the Chamber Advocate of the Year Award.

Nearly 200 people were in attendance at the ceremony, which featured the theme “year of growth.” Both the Chamber and the city of Galesburg have been working on re-branding efforts to revitalize Galesburg. Jessica Linder, Executive Director for the Galesburg Chamber, was happy to recognize area businesses and hopes to continue to build toward a better future with them.

“We’re very fortunate in this area to have some really amazing members and businesses and volunteers that really partner with us throughout the year and come out to all these things and help us do the work that we’re doing, so that was a really awesome chance to celebrate that,” she said.

The Chamber will also be holding two ribbon cuttings this week on Tuesday, Mar. 6 and Wednesday, Mar. 7. The first will be held at Associated Oral Surgeons at 4 p.m., and the second will be held at Salvation Army the following day at 4 p.m.
