Spaghetti Supper to Help Fund Trip for MC Chorale

MONMOUTH, Ill. – Some performers sing for their suppers, but the Monmouth College Chorale will host a supper so they can sing later this spring in the world-renowned Carnegie Hall.

The Chorale will host a spaghetti dinner from 5 to 7 p.m. March 24 at the First United Methodist Church, 221 E. Broadway, Monmouth.

There will be spaghetti with two choices of sauces – meat and vegetarian – as well as salad, garlic bread and desserts.

Throughout the evening, there will be performances by Monmouth’s Sassy Lassies and by other Chorale members.

The cost is $5 per person, and individuals can pay at the door. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Monmouth College choirs’ trip to New York City in May to sing in Carnegie Hall.

Directed by music professor Tim Pahel, the Chorale is a highly selective mixed ensemble which engages students from nearly every academic major and tours extensively. It last performed in Carnegie Hall in 2013.
