Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 27th:

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Claire Oetting. Claire helped lead her team to its first win of the season by going 4-for-4 at the plate against Bushnell Prairie City/West Prairie. Her day included scoring four runs, while driving in four runs as well. She pounded out two home runs and a double in those four hits.

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Jordan Cheek. Jordan hit his first home run of the season in a win against Peoria Central. For the week, he was 5-for-11 at the plate, scoring 6 runs with 3 extra base hits. Jordan also got a pitching win vs. Sherrard, going 6 innings, scattering three hits and striking out six batters.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior softball player, Lauryn Campbell. In a week in which her team won all three games, Lauryn was a huge part of the success. She was 8-for-10 at the plate, driving in seven runs and scoring five runs herself. That hit total included a home run and a double.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is freshman softball player, Mady Reed. Mady hit her first home run of her softball career in her second at-bat of the season. The blast was a grand slam and helped lead her team to a win over Monmouth-Roseville. She ended the day 2-for-2 at the plate with five rbis.

Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman girls track and field athlete, Emma Ginther. Emma brought home some hardware from the Illinois Prep Top Times meet in Bloomington. She placed 5th in the 200 meter dash at the unofficial indoor track state finals. Emma also finished 13th in the 60 meter dash.
