Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending March 6th:
 
Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is freshman girls track and field athlete, Emma Ginther. Emma got her season off to a great start in the Steve Coffman Indoor Invitational at Knox College. She finished second in the 200 and 55 meter dashes and showed her versatility with a 3rd place finish in the long jump competition.
 
Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior boys track and field athlete, Jared Toal. Jared finished in 5th place in the triple jump competition at the Jacksonville High School Invite at Illinois College. His leap of 38′ 1.5″ was good enough to get a top-5 in his first indoor meet of the season against 2A and 3A competition.
 
Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is senior boys basketball player, Khalil Hodge. Khalil ended the season as his team’s leading scorer and ended his career with 35 total points in the Streak’s two regional games. His 20 point total in the semifinal included four, 3-pointers.
 
Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Carly Thompson. Carly’s hard work on the court got her named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s All-Conference Team. Her work in the classroom also got her named to the LTC’s All-Academic Team as well.
 
Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior girls basketball player, Corinne Booton. Corinne led the Heat in points scored for the season and that was good enough to have her named to the Lincoln Trail Conference’s, All-Conference second team. She was also named to the LTC’s All-Academic team.
