Kids Need Heroes Campaign Gives Children Opportunities

Share

The Kids Need Heroes campaign at the Warren County YMCA is designed to assist kids in paying for program scholarships. Candy Conard with the organization explains how those costs are covered:

“It’s made up of a letter campaign that goes out to a lot of different businesses and also goes out to people that do banners. We have banners around our gym, our baseball fields, and so forth. There’s also Dancing for Dreams where people from the community come to dance, and all of those funds go towards the Kids Need Heroes campaign,” she said.

$50,000 is the target goal each year for the campaign. Conard says the Dancing for Dreams event each fall is the YMCA’s largest contributor to the campaign producing $20,000 to $30,000 each year. Kids Need Heroes helps assist about 100 children with scholarships annually at the Y.
