Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 17th:

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week is senior track sprinter, Matthew Burris. Matthew was a 2-time winner in the recent Galesburg Silver Streak Invitational at Van Dyke Field in Galesburg. Against many 2A and 3A schools, he won the 100 meter dash and ran the anchor leg of the 4X100 meter relay team that also crossed the finish line first.

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week is senior baseball player, Ethan Chenault. Ethan had great day at the plate in a non-conference win against Louisiana, Missouri on the artificial turf fields at the Lenz Complex in Jacksonville. He was 2-for-4 with 6 rbis, including smashing a double and a triple. He also scored a pair of runs, as well.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week is junior baseball player, Dallas Cramer. Dallas went 2-for-4 at the plate in a non-conference win over Bushnell-Prairie City/ West Prairie. His bases-loaded double provided his team with the eventual winning runs. For the season, Dallas is batting over .400 and leading the Heat in rbis.

Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week is junior softball player, Tori Adolphson. Tori was the winning pitcher in all three of her team’s wins last week. She threw a total of 18 innings, giving up only 6 earned runs with 25 striketouts. Tori also helped herself out at the plate with a double a triple and 3 rbis during that span.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week is junior softball player, Andrea Sampson. Andrea had all four of her team’s rbis in a Western Big Six Conference win over Alleman. For the week, she was 5-for-10 with five rbis. Of those five hits, she pounded out a home run and two doubles and scored three runs.
