Your WMOI/WRAM/WAIK Area Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 24th, 2018

Here’s your local high school Athletes of the Week for the week ending April 24th:

Your Monmouth-Roseville Titan Athlete of the Week. This week the spotlight shines on Titan senior baseball player, Koby Killey. Koby was 6-for-11 at the plate in his final three games of last week. He also knocked in a pair of runs as well. For the season, Koby is hitting well over .400 and is leading the team in hits.

Your United Red Storm Athlete of the Week. This week the spotlight shines on Red Storm freshman track and field athlete, Bridget Brokaw. Bridget pulled double duty at the Rockridge Invite and then again at a multi-team meet in Galva. She placed in the top-10 in both the 100 meter dash and the 300 meter hurdles at the Rocket Invite and followed that up with winning the 300 hurdles and taking 2nd in the 100 meter dash in Galva.

Your West Central Heat Athlete of the Week. This week the spotlight shines on junior baseball player, Nathan Bigger. Nathan put together a pair of games in which he went 6-for-10 at the plate. Included in those six hits were three doubles and a home run. He also had 6 rbis, five of those came in a win against BPC/West Prairie.

Your A-Town Tornado Athlete of the Week. This week the spotlight shines on Tornado junior baseball player, Nathan Wright. Nathan has become an RBI machine for the Tornadoes. While leading the team in that category, he recorded 8 of them last week alone. Nathan’s Grand Slam Home Run put his team ahead for good in a win over Monmouth-Roseville.

Your Galesburg Silver Streak Athlete of the Week. This week the spotlight shines on freshman tennis player, Cade Petrie. Cade placed 2nd in the #2 singles competition at the recently completed Silver Streak Invitational. He’s been one of the consistent winners all season long for the Galesburg boys.
