ROCKFORD, Illinois—The Prairie Fire men’s golf team competed in the final day of the Midwest Conference Championships on Saturday.
Knox made a comeback on leader Lake Forest, but came up two strokes short of winning their first championship since 2008. The Prairie Fire cruised to a second place finish by shooting a 303 on the day and 920 overall.
Tijn De Jong shot a 74 for the second straight day to earn a tie for third place overall at 226. Duncan Wheeler finished tied for sixth at 227 and Jason White placed eighth with a 229. All three made the All-MWC team by finishing in the top-10.
Head coach KC Harding was also named the Midwest Conference Coach of the Year.
