Seminary Village Health Fair Full of Information for Seniors, Sandwich Generation

Seminary Village’s Annual Health Fair is back again this Wednesday, May 16th, from 9 a.m. to noon. Over 20 healthcare vendors will be in attendance to help both seniors and members of the Sandwich generation learn about their services and plan for the future. Seminary’s Marketing Director Don Luper explains:

“It is a one-day event we have every year, but we’re hoping that folks come out and take advantage of making those connections so that now they have a go-to. They might not have many questions today or next Wednesday at the Health Fair itself — but you know what, something might arise next month or next year, so now they develop a go-to, a resource guide for particular needs they might have,” Luper stated.

Both Galesburg hospitals, OSF and Cottage, will be in attendance to answer questions on various subjects ranging from home healthcare, hospice, financial planning, and more. Blood pressure checks, balance tests, strength grip, and various therapists will be among the free services offered at the Health Fair. Luper also mentioned that some blood work can be done on Wednesday for a small fee. He encourages those that can’t attend to get in contact with Seminary Village if they want to learn more about these services.

“Please call, set up an appointment with us, come out, and we will share with someone, when they can, any information that maybe they’re looking for. We’ll steer them in the right direction,” he said.
